RAM-AUTO Upgrade

Modal Shop Shakers Go BIG

Vibration testing of larger components can be expensive and challenging. Often, engineers turn to large, heavy vibration tables for design or validation testing. The Modal Shop’s Vibration Shaker Model 2500E, with 500 lbf pk sine force, offers a new smaller, lighter weight vibration testing option for Avionics, Consumer Products, Automotive Components, Cubesats, and more.

An optional Horizontal Table System expands the shaker’s dynamic testing capabilities to allow horizontal testing for objects larger or heavier than what can be directly mounted to the shaker and an optional Head Expander increases the shaker’s footprint for mounting.

Lesser-Known Modal Tools and Techniques

This quarter, we’d like to re-introduce you to two tools that may get overlooked or forgotten but are useful to have in your modal toolbox: Inertial Shakers and the Modal Punch. Both are well-suited for use in hard-to-reach places. Read on to learn why we think you should give this pair of handy tools a chance!

Dealing with Data: Is Two Channels Enough?

The Modal Shop recently received an inquiry that led to an interesting discussion about the number of input channels available when using a Digital ICP USB Signal Conditioner Model 485B39. The customer was looking for a simple measurement system to quantify customer NVH complaints in the field and easily share with a vibration expert offsite.

The question arose, “Why is Digital ICP USB Signal Conditioner just two channels? What if I want to use a triaxial accelerometer with a mobile device to capture this data?” Take a look at our latest Digital Data article to learn more.
